If you are flying to the Algarve then there are many flights to FARO, our nearest international airport, from several UK and other European airports: if you want any help with this, please let us know. We can suggest car hire also from the airport and we do recommend that you take out fully inclusive insurance with a zero excess CDW (collision damage waiver). At the villa there is your own private parking immediately adjacent for two small cars - other parking a short walk away. From Faro airport take the link road to the N125 and then turn left towards the A22 motorway signposted Lisbon and Portimao: join the A22 and follow this heading west. At junction 9 take the Albufeira exit and then follow signs to GUIA rejoining the N125: in about three miles turn left at the roundabout in the centre of Guia. Keep straight on for about half a mile past various shops then after the road bends left, turn right where you see the signpost Vale de Parra: continue on this road for some three miles till you reach a roundabout then turn right again. Shortly Salgados Golf course is off to your left and after a bus stop on your left there is a sharp turn right into the Quinta just past a white house with arches and opposite a blue sign pointing to the Quinta. Enter between the palm trees: for the office go straight on and it is on your right in three hundred yards: for the villa turn right just after the entrance, then shortly left and the villa is on your left in about three hundred yards! If you expect to arrive when the office is open, then the key will be there: if out of hours then we will make alternate arrangements. The villa will be ready for you by 4pm and we ask you to vacate by 10am on your departure date There are many places to visit not far away and with the A22 motorway just a few miles inland access to all parts of the coast and inland towards Lisbon is now very easy and fast. Silves, the former capital of the Algarve, and Monchique, set in the hills with wonderful views back to the coast, are well worth a visit: Lagos, Sagres and the massive cliffs at Cabo de Sao Vicente west along the coast also merit the journey. Close by Gale has a couple of good beachside tavernas, Guia is famous for its chicken piri piri and birdwatchers will be more than happy at the nearby Salgados lagoon as well as at the several other sites along the Algarve and inland in the Alentejo area.  |
